About Dr. Glennisha Norman
I am a licensed therapist and the founder of Dr. Norman Therapy PLLC. A proud Black woman and Texas native, I specialize in working with Black men and women experiencing anxiety, depression, and life’s emotional challenges. With over 15 years of experience in mental health, I provide real therapy - no fluff, no judgment, just honest, compassionate support.
I believe that therapy should feel like a safe and supportive conversation, where you can be yourself, speak your truth, and actually see progress. Whether it’s managing work stress, setting boundaries, or navigating relationships, Dr. Norman is here to help you do the self-work necessary to grow and heal.
This is your space to unlearn, heal and grow.
You carry enough. Let therapy help you put it down.
You're here because….
Lately, life has felt overwhelming. You’re exhausted - mentally, emotionally, and maybe even physically. Anxiety keeps your mind racing at night, or depression has you feeling stuck in place. You might be the person everyone leans on, but when it comes to your own struggles, you’re not sure who to turn to. Maybe you’ve thought about therapy before but didn’t know where to start, or you worried that no one would truly understand the unique stressors you face as a Black man or woman navigating life in 2025.
You’re here because you’re ready for something to change. You want to feel in control again, to have peace of mind, and to stop second-guessing yourself. You’re tired of carrying everything alone and want a space where you can be honest, without judgment. Therapy can help you process your emotions, set boundaries, and learn coping strategies that actually work. Most importantly, it’s a space where you don’t have to perform, shrink yourself, or translate your experiences. You deserve that - and I’m here to help.

How I work:
At the core of my approach to therapy is a deep understanding that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all.
I recognize that as a high-functioning Black man or woman, you’ve developed ways to survive- but survival isn’t the same as thriving. My goal is to help you move from just “getting by” to truly feeling at peace within yourself.
I integrate evidence-based strategies to increase your protective factors - like self-awareness, emotional regulation, and strong support systems- while reducing risk factors that contribute to stress, anxiety, and depression. Therapy with me is a balance of real talk and real tools, where we use cultural relevance, humor, and even music to foster resilience. Because let’s be honest, sometimes healing happens through laughter just as much as deep reflection.
Most importantly, I provide a space where you can show up as your full self. No code-switching, no watering yourself down- just real conversations that help you gain clarity, break cycles, and step into the version of yourself you deserve to be.
Therapy with me is…
-
From the moment you step into this space, you are seen. You don’t have to explain nuances of being a Black man or woman navigating stress, expectations, and the weight of always having to “keep it together.” I get it. Our sessions are a place where your experiences are validated, your emotions are respected, and your struggles are met with empathy - not judgment. This is a space where you can be vulnerable without fear, where your voice matters, and where your healing journey is honored.
-
Growth doesn’t happen overnight, and I’m not here to rush your process. Whether you’re just beginning to unpack years of built-up stress or diving deep into long-standing patterns, we move at a pace that feels right for you. There is no pressure to have all the answers immediately. Therapy is about exploration, and I am here to guide you with patience, helping you navigate through the discomfort, uncertainty, and breakthroughs in your own time.
-
While therapy is a safe space to vent, it’s also a space for action. I focus on giving you real tools to mange anxiety, depression, and general stress beyond the therapy session. This means identifying practical coping strategies, setting boundaries, and developing self-awareness that leads to long-term change. You’ll leave each session with something to reflect on, apply, or shift in your daily life - because healing is an ongoing process, and you deserve to see the progress you’re making.
